Five Things I Have Learned In My First Week On Shift

1.  Twelve hours really goes by quickly when you've got lots to do.

2.  Running a few miles post-shift is better than running post-nap post-shift.

3.  There is lots of eating that goes on in the nurses station on night shift.

4.  Even though a nurse can be very competent, if she complains about how needy her patients are, she loses a lot of credibility in my eyes.

5.  I REALLY love my job.

Five Things I'm Doing This Weekend

Fall is on it's way to southern Nevada....sooner or later!

1.  Scott and I are going to see this movie.  I've heard fabulous things about it and can't wait to experience it myself!

2.  Cleaning up the backyard.  Dang, it's a hot mess.

3.  Sleeping.

4.  Enjoying time with my family before I start my new job.

5.  Possibly painting my toenails.  My sister sent me some happy green polish and sparkly green polish a while ago and I think I'm going to give them a try.

Five Things That Touched Me During LDS General Conference

1.  From D. Todd Christofferson, an apostle: A God who makes no demands is basically a God that does not exist.

2.  From Dider F. Uchtdorf, an apostle: Gathering spiritual light isn't a one and done.  It is continuous.

3.  From Jeffrey R. Holland, an apostle: We need to serve those within our reach with whatever we have.  We are ALL beggars.

4.  From Tad R. Callister, Sunday School general president:  We need to teach the power of prayer, and not just the routine of prayer.

5.  From Thomas S. Monson, prophet of God (begins at 1:31:00): We need to walk as the Savior walked, not just where He walked.
